Grand Mayan 1 Bedroom Suite Accomodations

The studio unit (Grand Master Room) is identical to the second bedroom of the two bedroom suite. This large room has a love seat that makes 2 child size single beds. It is rated for 2 adults and 2 children (under age 12). There is no living /kitchen area for this room. It is essentially a very large hotel room. You can request a refrigerator based on availability. It has a balcony but no cooling pool. Approximate area is 400 square feet.

We're not sure who started calling these studios. The do not have a kitchen and I am guessing it is because they are so large and comfortable they started calling them studios. Just so you can compare, the Mayan literature refers to these as a Grand Master Room. These units are ideal for those who want to stay at a top of the line resort without paying top of the line prices and who think cooking on vacation is a totally crazy idea.

Sleeping

A Grand Mayan studio is over 400square feet! It has a very comfortable king size bed and a love seat. The love seat is nice for relaxing in the room without having to always sit on the bed. The love seat also pulls out to make two short single beds designed to accommodate children.

Number of people

These units accommodate 2 adults and 2 children under 13.

Dining/Kitchen

There is a dining area and kitchen with everything you could want besides a conventional oven. That includes a blender, a microwave, a stove top, all pots, pans and dishes, etc. The amenities are all first class with granite countertops and stainless steel refrigerator.

Bathrooms

Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The bathroom can also be accessed from the living area. Each bathroom has a large (potentially two person) tub, but only the one in second bedroom has Jacuzzi jets.

Balcony

Each suite has a nice balcony area with large lounge chairs for relaxing on the balcony. They do not have the cooling pool.

Services

There is twice daily maid service. We recommend leaving perhaps a 50 peso note (about $4) each day for the day maids. The night maids tip would depend on how much they do for you. Room service is available and the prices are pretty much the same as going to the restaurant. You can request a refrigerator in the Grand Mayan Studios. It is strictly on a first come/first serve basis. Let us know if you would like a refrigerator and we will place the request. you should call reservations a few days before arrival and reiterate this request.
