- What is the Grand Mayan? How is it different
The Grand Mayan is a separate set of buildings on the same resort grounds as the Mayan Palace.
They are for those that are willing to pay a little more to get the extras. Some of the advantages are as follows:
- The units are much larger
- They have a jacuzzi tub in each bedroom
- They have a large balcony with a cooling pool
- Top of the line furnishings, with granite counters, stainless steel appliances, marble bathrooms etc.
- couch and sitting are in bedrooms
The Grand Mayan is currently available in Riviera Maya, Acapulco, and Nuevo Vallarta. They are being built in Cabo San Lucas
and Puerto Pensaco.

- Are Grand Mayan units really bigger?
In a word... yes. The 2 bedroom unit is over 1200 square feet, not including the balcony.

- Is there more security?
Yes, although, in my opinion, security is not a big issue at Mayan Resorts. We recommend use of the free safes in each room.

- Is the Grand Mayan worth extra money?
The regular Mayan Palace units are 5 star top quality units. So if you're seriously asking the answer is probably no.
However, if you take you're vacationing seriously and want the top of the line accomodation, the Grand Mayan rentals
are a great value at our low rates. At the acapulco location, use of the waterpark is free. Mayan Palace guests pay 1/2 price,
but if you have quite a few kids, the savings can be substantial. Finally, the Grand Mayan waterpark in Neuvo Vallarta is
not accessible for Mayan Palace guests, so that is an advantage at the Nuevo Vallarta location.

- Can I get an ocean front unit?
Not even in the Grand Mayan at the Riviera Maya resort. Both the Grand Mayan and the Mayan Palace units run perpendicular to the beach. The resort does have a very large section of private beach.
You can request ocean front at the Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta and Grand Mayan Acapulco. The units are assigned at check in, so there is no guarantee, but we are generally successful. If ocean
front is a make or break issue for you , we have a few owner contracts that guarantee it and we guarantee that for an extra fee.

- What are other advantages of the Grand Mayan?
The Grand Mayan units have an exclusive pool. The water park in Nuevo Vallarta is the best one with with lazy rivers running around them.
Some of our Grand Mayan rentals have discounted access to the spa and golf course.
Also, there is simply a higher standard of service with maid service at least twice a day, etc.
