Grand Mayan 2 Bedroom Suite Accomodations

Below is the main layout for a 2 bedroom suite (Mayan resorts call this a Master Suite). It is rated for up to 6 adults and 2 children (under age 12). It includes a central room with living/dining/kitchen area and two separate bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. The kitchens in the Two and One bedroom suites are fully equipped including stove top, microwave, refrigerator, blender, toaster, dishes and cooking utensils. Shown below is the suite living area and the kitchen.

These units are referred to in the Mayan information as a Master Suite. They nearly 900 square feet with plenty of room for a comfortable week (or two or three).

All Mayan Palace resorts are meticulously maintained, clean and beautiful. The units in Riviera Maya, Mazatlan and Puerto Penasco are quite new. The units in Puerto are older, but nicely updated. The units in Nuevo Vallarta and Acapulco are very clean and well maintained, but a bit more dated. New units in Acapulco are due sometime in 2010. There are only Grand Mayan units in Cabo.

Sleeping

A two bedroom suite Mayan Palace has a central living room with a couch and a love seat. The couch pulls out like a trundle bed to make 2 normal twin size beds. THe love seat does the same and makes two shorter single beds suitable for younger children. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a love seat. The second bedroom has two double beds. Note that this different (and for some families a better arrangement) than the Grand Mayan.

Number of people

These units are designated for 6 adults and 2 children under 13 and they generally stick pretty close to that restriction.

Dining/Kitchen

There is a dining area and a mini kitchen with everything you could want besides a conventional oven. That includes a blender, a microwave,a small refrigerator, a stove top, all pots, pans and dishes, etc. They even have a device for squeezing limes/lemons.

Bathrooms

Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The bathroom can also be accessed from the living area. Each bathroom has a tub and shower. Mayan Palace does an excellent job of keeping units clean and updated.

Balcony

There is a balcony with these suites, but it is very small and only good for standing outside and breathing the warm ocean air.

Services

There is twice daily maid service. We recommend leaving perhaps a 50 peso note (about $4) each day for the day maids. The night maids tip would depend on how much they do for you. Room service is available and the prices are pretty much the same as going to the restaurant.
