Grand Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta really is great place to combine a golf vacation with a beach vacation with a relaxing resort vacation. The weather is very likely to cooperate and this golf course offers an exciting option for golf in Puerto Vallarta / Nuevo Vallarta. Located right at the resort, the course is very open and there are a number of interesting water and sand hazards to test your skill. For the less experienced player the strategic placing of the tees allows you to play with the more experienced golfers and still enjoy a challenging game. You can stay right on site and golf out the back door by renting from timeshare owners at the Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta or the Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta.

Originally designed by the prestigious Jim Lipe, this excellent course of 6936 yards, 18 holes, par 71, is located on the spectacular beaches of Nuevo Vallarta between the mountains of Western Sierra Madre and Banderas Bay.

The resort is currently redesigning the course with Jack Nicklaus Design, with an estimated reopening scheduled for early 2010 (yeah well...)

Also, there are other nice courses near by that you can have access to as well.

Currently, 9 holes are open. Hopefully, they will leave 18 holes open for a while before beginning the redesign on the back nine.
