Puerto Vallarta Trip 2012 -Intro
One of our favorite things to do is to take friends to Mexico and show them the things we love. In March of 2012, our friends Larry and Ann Stidham came along on our Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta trip. They have previously done an all inclusive trip to the Dominican Republic and were looking forward to getting off the resort and experiencing some of Mexico. This was a perfect opportunity for us and friend Mary to experience our favorite places through the eyes of the uninitiated. Before they got there we visited the amazing people at Pasitos de Luz (a place that cares for developmentally disabled children) and decided that we were going to help support them with a percentage of our business profits.
After a day of relaxing by the pool, we were ready for some fun. In the next few posts we will tell you stories of our activities which included a zipline, surfing lessons in Salyulita, Dinner in Bucerias, a visit to Le Kliff, a whale watching and snorkel trip to the Marietas islands, an afternoon and evening in Old Town. All this was punctuated by lazy times around the pool or in the lazy river at the Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta. We started by renting a car as Sixt car rental. This can be a bit pricey in Mexico. We negotiated the price down to $400 or so for 9 days, but that did include the a little more liability insurance and we used our credit card car rental insurance to cover collision.
