The Mayan Palace units are our most affordable option with additional locations available. If you are accustomed to hotels, you will love the suites with living area and kitchens. People are almost always happy with the Mayan Palace, unless they take a tour and see one of the more upscale units. The Mayan Palace pool and beach area in Riviera Maya is fantastic. The Mayan Palace units in Acapulco are almost brand new and have nice pool areas. In Acapulco, you can choose the Mayan Palace Golf location with kids pool and lazy river or the new Playa tower right on the beach of Acapulco Bay.
Grand Mayan offers larger suites than the entry level Mayan Palace and walk in showers, but the most notable upgrade are the large balconies with lounge chairs and a cooling pool. The décor uses more upscale materials. The Grand Mayan is our most popular rental unit. The Grand Mayans in Los Cabos and in Puerto Penasco are brand new construction. The Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta has a huge water park with lazy river, two wave pools, water slide and smaller kids area. Grand Mayans remain our most popular rentals.
A few steps away from the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta, The Grand Bliss is a lot quieter. The units are just a bit larger and more contemporary than the Grand Mayan. The other perk is the refrigerator in second bedroom / studio. Recently there are two new Grand Bliss buildings also in the Riviera Maya Vidanta resort. Grand Bliss guests in Nuevo Vallarta have access to the Grand Bliss pools that is serviced by the Chirnguito restaurant. Likewise, in Riviera Maya, Grand Bliss guests have access to the new Grand Luxxe / Grand Bliss beach club with pools and a restaurant of it’s own.
The original Grand Luxxe units were built just recently. They are simply stunning in size and in amenities. The Grand Luxxe has a concierge for each 2 floors where there are only 8 units/floor. The standard Luxxe suites (also called condos) are exceptionally large with 2 1/2 baths. The Luxxe upgrade is called the Villa. The Luxxe Villa difference is in the 2nd bedroom and in the separate studio unit. Both of these have a separate living are with couch, fridge, microwave and TV that sleeps two more people ! The one bedroom suites are almost identical in either type.
It may not seem possible, but the new Loft units go a size bigger yet and the decor is the over the top in elegance. Located in Nuevo Vallarta and in Riviera Maya, the two and three bedroom units are two stories with huge window walls that open to join the outdoor deck to the living room. The is a Master ensuite on both floors. They are the top of the line units with extra service attention almost on par with the four bedroom residence. In Nuevo Vallarta they have recently added one bedroom and studio Lofts in buildings five and six. They have the same high end decor, but are a bit smaller in scale.
If you have a large group or if you simply have to have the best, the Residence 4 bedroom is for you. These units are over the top with personalized elevators that open right in your suite, wet bar, front and back patios with ocean and mountain views, 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, washer/dryer, and over 5,000 square feet of living space. Impossible to overstate how great these suites are. Wait ! I almost forgot to mention the private residence-only pool and restaurant on the roof.
On the same luxury level as the Grand Luxxe, the Spa Tower units are two and three bedroom suites located in Nuevo Vallarta (buildings 3 and 4) and Riviera Maya . The Spa Tower suites have what we call “softer” décor with wood floors and warmer colors. The Three bedroom version has a separate massage room, so you can have your massage right in your suite. The two bedroom is quite similar in size and layout to the Luxxe two bedroom suite.
We hope this helps you compare and choose the Grand Mayan vs the Grand Bliss vs the Grand Luxxe and the Mayan Palace, but feel free to phone or email with more questions.

This was the second visit to the Grand Luxxe in Riviera Mayan. It was even better than our first visit. The transportation from the airport, the new check in process at the main lobby, and transfer to the Grand Luxxe lobby was seamless and efficient. We were in our unit within :30 minutes top once we arrived on the property. The unit was spectacular as expected!!! The shuttle service has definitely improved since last year on availability and frequency. The new Salum area is SPECTACULAR !!! I have never seen or been to anyplace like it... the variety of restaurants, live music, and TVs was over the top! We have already booked for next year!Leslie Kubicki
My husband and I stayed at the Mayan for a week, June 2 - 8th. It was our Anniversary and we had a such a great time! Met some lovely couples and really enjoyed ourselves! The wait staff were kind and worked very hard to make our vacation memorable! Bryan our Bartender at the Lobby Bar was personable and friendly! His Manager ( and I can’t recall his name) also Managed the Restaurant made our Anniversary very special! Had a cake made special for 37 years! The staff at the resort is truly why I will continue to return! They treat you like family!Marlene Paschke
Booking at the Grand Bliss in Nuevo Vallarta with MayanRental was a good experience. The team was very experienced and attentive. Had a few bumps with the Grand Bliss and appreciated the phone call by the MayanRental staff to try and smooth things over. We enjoyed the resort and had a great time.Lydia Young
My children had their introduction to the Grand Mayan with our recent visit — all of them were impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. They loved the facilities and found your two bedroom unit very comfortable for all of us. You and Linda were very helpful with everything and we would certainly feel secure in using your place at another time. One is always a bit nervous about contacting an unknown person for a rental…… but it was great and we certainly would recommend you to others. Thank you so much for making out littlefamily gathering relaxing and worry free.Mary Sue Torres
Dear John and Linda, We just got back from a great vacation at the Vidanta in Riviera Maya. The Grand Luxxe Loft room was truly spectacular. We have stayed a many great places around the world including many Four Seasons, Aman and Ritz Carlton resorts but nothing could have beat this place. The resort as a whole was also great with many activities and a great choice of restaurants. The people were so nice and accommodating. Thank you for a great hassle free vacation. Regards, RobertRobert C
Hi John, Our entire experience from booking to communicating and most importantly, our stay at the Grand Mayan was wonderful. We enjoyed our holiday immensely and although I had some concerns about time share pressure, we never experienced anything but the finest service and eager to please attitudes. We will definitely look you up when we come back to the Grand Mayan. Thank you, ArleneArlene Charach
Hello John, You made all the necessary reservations for me and everything was accurate and effortless for me and my Family. The Grand Luxxe Suite near Playa del Carmen was amazing. I would highly recommend using John to book future trips, very nice to deal with and easy going. Thank you again as it's a pleasure dealing with travel professionals....until next time.... Carl and the Crew from Marin County California.Carl G
We stayed in the spa tower in January 2016. Everything was wonderful, the attention. All my questions where answered. Great hotel! great hosts! For me was a little bit weird to trust because i'm mexican and we have trust issues but i regret nothing and i hope to come back soon, with mayanrental.Fabiola Sánchez
Dear John - My husband and I and our 3 teenage boys thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand Mayan in Riviera Maya. Our 2-bedroom condo was well maintained and clean, the grounds were immaculate, and the staff at all of the restaurants, pools and bars were wonderful; especially considering we were there the busy week after Christmas. New Year's Eve was fun on the beach! My husband and sons went golfing, and we also did an awesome snorkeling adventure off the property through caverns/caves, an ocean inlet and cenote! I do have to say that we much prefer the Grand Mayan at Nuevo Vallarta vs. Riviera Maya because of the expansiveness of NV's pools, but we had no complaints! Thank you for your help in booking our trip!Cassandra Cohen
The Grand Luxxe 3 bedroom suite exceeded our expectations as did the property. We had 4 kids (ages 18-22) in the party, and there was plenty to keep them entertained. We also spent a lot less than we expected as we took advantage of the four hour happy hour everyday (11 to 3), and the resort meal coupon plan. Although its not part of the resort the kids took advantage of the para-sailing and sea-doo's in front of the Grand Mayan. It was quite easy to negotiate a fair rate. After the fourth call to attend a timeshare sales presentation, they finally got my wife's outside voice saying no. That was the only annoyance. There is no doubt we will go back. Thanks for your friendly and prompt service this go around.Doug Comeau
Hello and thank you John and Linda for an excellent and smooth vacation. Everything was in perfect order and our family had a wonderful time in Nuevo at the Grand Luxxe. We had a beautiful top floor Spa Tower 2 bedroom and could not have asked for anything more. The timeshare push seemed far less this year which was nice. Thanks again so much for all your time and efforts!!charles stancer
John We are headed back from a wonderful week at the Grand Luxxe in Riviera Maya. I have to tell you that it is probably one of the nicest resorts I have ever been to. The loft building was perfection. The concierge was excellent and the food was solid all around. Thanks again for a great vacation.Steve Lerner
Hi! Just wanted to comment that our stay at Grand Mayan, 2 bedroom apartment was great! Very good housekeeping and excellent service in general. Waiting for cars was a bit tedious but understandable considering New Year week and accommodations full. Pool service was good and just an overall relaxing vacation, even considering having teenagers. They walked the beach, and felt safe and New Year´s Eve was just amazing on the beach. Very safe and a beautiful spectacle of fireworks and lited lanterns cast to the ocean. Thank you for your kind assistance and I would definitely recommend this site for rentals. Have a great year!PATRICIA FERNANDEZ BITAR
We had another great stay at Nuevo Vallarta Grand Bliss. This was our second stay there and 3 overall visit to the property (stayed at the old Mayan Palace a few years back). We have also booked through you 2 times at the Grand Mayan in Riviera Maya. We have never had a bad experience with our stays. We absolutely love Grand Bliss in NV. Having the Luxxe contract we enjoyed the golf and Luxxe pools. This was our first year of having ocean view and it was probably the best location at the Grand Bliss. We were on the 8th floor dead center, spectacular view of the whole property. We’ve considered staying at the Luxxe properties but it is hard to beat the Grand Bliss location. Having the Luxxe contract, gave us the best of both worlds.Gerry
Our trip was fantastic! Our room was great. The service was great. We loved everything about it. We are so happy we were able to stay in the Grand Bliss. Nice and quiet, secluded, and private. Walking to and from the pool/beach/restaurant each day was a lovely experience. We enjoyed seeng the wild life on the property (coati's, iguanas, birds, alligators, etc.) and of course the lush grounds were so beautiful. We rarely took the shuttle-only if it was raining. We had the same pool waiter almost every day and he did an outstanding job taking care of us. We had two really good dinners, one at the French restaurant and another at the Asian restaurant. We did not make it to the Italian restaurant. Our friends did and they said if was very good as well. Thanks for hooking us up. Awesome and relaxing way to spend a vacationBarb
We just returned from 2 amazing weeks at the Grand Luxxe, what an incredible time! We were treated like royalty from beginning to end. We were in tower 3 on the 9th floor, our concierge was Angel and our housekeeper was Blanca, between the two of them we were well taken care of. The food was incredible at every restaurant. We highly recommend the culinary tours if you won't be there long enough to take in all the restaurants. You hit 4 places in one evening and it is fabulous. We can't wait until our next visit!Shelly and Marc Thiel
Dear John and Linda, We spent 4 delightful weeks at the Grand Luxxe. We had a 3bdrm loft which was just breathtaking, the high ceilings, the decor; we felt totally at home and beyond comfortable. The complex is immaculately manicured with lush vegetation, its grounds outstanding and service like no other. The whole experience was far better than expected. We would return in a heartbeat. Thank you.Lara
We just returned from a 1 week vacation at the Grand Luxxe Riviera Maya. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa and we all hated to leave and can't wait to return again next year. When I was looking around the intenet to rent a unit I had read a few horror stories where people had booked on line and got scammed out of their money. With my scepticism I had contacted John several times to ask him questons and asking for proof he was legit. John had me contact the management at the Grande Luxxe and they assured me that they knew Mr Jameson and that I indeed had been booked into a 2 bedroom Villa. I was so nervous giving my money to a complete stranger in another country. Well I can honestly say that my family had the best holiday that exceeded our expectations 10 fold. We had stayed in the Grand Mayan before but never at the Luxxe. From the minute we arrived and I had a mimosa in my had in the lobby at the check in desk, I knew i did good. We had a 'platinum package' with our unit that include 16 rounds of golf, 2 massages and free internet. It also included transportation from the airport and a private butler to assist us in anyway. We could have pre selected our pillow type and even had groceries prebought and waiting for us. Our suitcases could be unpacked and packed for us. Even ironing was included. Shoe shining available. We could have even made reservations for golf, tennis and restaurants before our arrival. We were treated like royalty and we felt very 'special' We had never been treated with such attentivness and courtesy in our lives. Another luxury of being at the Luxxe included the fantastic burgers at the Luxxe pool and the new pool area called the Beach Club. The food at the resort is all amazing no matter where you go. The shuttles were always immediately called for us wherever we wanted to go. The pools are incredible, the food is incredible and the staff are incredible. The excursions dept helped us to ride camels and go ATVing and speedboating at Maroma Beach. They also booked our seats for Cirque du Soleil. My daughters and my free massages were by far the best we have ever had. And my husband and son loved the free golf. Our villa was huge and simply incredible. The grounds are immaculant and the gardens breathtaking. My hat goes off to you and I thank you Mr Jameson for your professionalism and helping us to have one of the best famiy vacations we have ever had. We will not hesitated to use your services again and can't wait to return next year. Thank You!!!Denise D'Arcy
Stayed in the Grand Mayan in Riviera Maya Christmas 2014... This is the second time I worked with John. In one sentence: John takes care of everything for you. He is professional, timely, doesn't spam your inbox or chase you. its one phone call, one payment and you're done. I couldn't ask for an easier process. Thank you and goodluck in 2015! SammySam Mosseri
We had a fantastic time staying for one week at the Grand Luxxe in a studio. It was our first trip to the resort and we were very pleased with our room which was very large with a stunning view of the resort and the bay. We enjoyed several rounds of golf, the pool, the beach and the food at the resort was also very good. We will come back to the resort.Sue Armbruster
Our family had a fabulous time at the Mayan Palace, Mayan Riviera. Thebuildings are quite spread out, so requesting units 1-8 ahead of time is helpful as they are closer to the beach and pool area. We enjoyed the restaurants. golf course and resort trips! Plan to return next year.Sue Stevenson Brown
Just spent the Christmas holidays at the Bliss Resort which is next to the Mayan Palace. This building is very new it is not even on the map. It was a beautiful one bedroom, very spacious. This resort is very big but has everything for the perfect beach holiday. The pools are the nicest I ever seen and I agree with all other comments about the staff at the resort, they were wonderful. Would definitely go back. Thank you John for your very competent help.Andree Piche
We spend a wonderful vacation at the Grand Bliss Puerto Vallarta, the room with an spectacular ocean view on a 7th floor was just fabulous, sunset at the terrace with a glass of wine was great. The food in all the restaurants, specially at the Mexican Restaurant "Epazote" in the Grand Luxxe was great. The people working at the pools, restaurants and bars, always extremely friendly and courteous providing a great service. Nevertheless, a few things to remark, water temperature in all the pools except the ones located at the Grand Luxxe were cold, for some reason (I guess to save money) they only heat a few of them. Transportation was a real problem, the electric golf cars were insufficient to transport all the people and sometimes we needed to wait long 15 minutes.Francisco R Franco
I am so grateful to the Lord for crossing paths with John and Linda , your services are great! We did not have any problems at all at Ck-in. We rented 5 -2 bedroom units for a large family, as my nephew got married at the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya in Cancun and it was GREAT!! That's been the Best Vacation we've ever had. The resort was beautiful and amazing with great pools and restaurants, we stayed in Building 6 and it was perfect, we love to walk and we enjoyed the nice walkways, even though their Transportation would pass by every 10-15 min, we preferred to walk. The Staff was marvelous, they made you feel like royalty, it was unbelievable! We enjoyed every minute of it. We can't wait to go back!! What a Blessing, for such a great vacation and great weather! God Bless You John & Linda!!Gladys Cantu
Our trip to the Riviera Maya several weeks ago was fabulous. My siblings and our parents took the trip to celebrate our parent's 60th wedding anniversary. The Grand Mayan two bedroom suites were perfect, food was beyong fantastic, and staff at the resort very accomodating and helpful. John and Linda of Mayan Rental took care of every detail. Thanks for a great family vacation. We will be back to use Mayan Rental again!Mary Zoet
We've never had any problems finding accomodations at the Mayan Resorts with JOhn. For us holidays in Mexico in this Resort could not be any better. We own weeks at the Grand Luxxe but whenever we need more time to accommodate the family here is when John comes in. Thank you John and LInda. It's been a pleasure dealing with you guys always.Maria
We booked 4 rooms from Mayan Rental for Christmas break 2011 at the Grand Bliss. What a great experience! The rentals went smooth, and the property was absolutely amazing! The rooms could not have been nicer, the facilities more beuatiful, or the vacation so hassle free. We will definately book through Mayan Rental again in the future!Joshua Kahn - Chicago
We stayed for New Years week at the Mayan Palace. The resort is really nice, although almost at full occupancy we allways found a shaded spot by the pool. The rooms are great, much bigger and nicer than expected, the back and forth transportation to the Grand Mayan beach front is excellent ans runs every 5 minutes. My two children had a great time. Family activities by the pool and by night are run constantly, bingo, loteria, aqua aerobics were a lot of fun. Prices at the restaurant and shop are ok. Only one but, the cleaning lady does not do the dishes, so I did my share of dish washing during the whole week, since I had borught food for breakfast and snacks.Gabriela
We got in Bldg 5 which wasn't as close as we'd hoped to the pools, etc. The resort is beautiful, but a bit too large for us.....we frequently got lost. We would have liked more signs around to help us navigate and more information about restaurant hours etc. The excursions were very good and the discounts we got from Vidante made the 3+ hour presentation worth it (not quite the promised 90 minutes!) Overall a good experience and we were very glad to have the one bedroom with kitchenette! Thanks much!Jill Hodges
We had a GREAT experience renting at the Grand Mayan in Riviera Maya. Our experience with Mayan Rental was exactly as advertised. I would rent through you all again, and have already suggested friends to talk to you. Even when we had a small miscommunication about registration, you guys cleared it up quickly and satisfactorily. Thank you so much!Tim Stevens
The best is the cordiality from John and Linda, Thanks for your help. We really recomended booking with them, very kind people. The hotel is amazing and Nuevo Vallarta is gorgeous. The room, the pool, tobogan, river, service, everything was perfect. Best sunset in the world. Visit Nuevo Vallarta Mexico and book with John and Linda. Go to paradise.LEONEL MEDINA

The Grand Mayan was Awesome.! We spent a week with four other families, and we had a fabulous time. There was something for everyone! The little kids loved painting and swimming while the older kids loved the pools, beach and activities. All of us spent hours on the lazy river laughing and splashing away. When the evening meels seemed to be catching up with the ladies, the daytime water aerobics felt great. The staff is friendly, the restaurants are great and the atmosphere is festive. This is the best family-oriented resort that we have visited in Mexico or Hawaii. Fun, fun, fun!Corinne Isaak
My wife and I had a very enjoyable two weeks at the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya. Everyone at the Grand Mayan were very helpful and friendly. The pool area was great as well as the poolside restaurant. We really enjoyed all the activities and sites in the area. John and Linda were wonderful to deal with in booking our stay.Floyd Monen
Grand Mayan in Playa del Carmen area was excellent. No problems with the water, great food, biggest pool we have ever seen, excellent staff and the rental is a great price compared to a hotel. Will be going back. Place is big, but does not seem crowded, very limited waits and lots of choices. MayanRental is super efficient and there are no problems renting from them. Top shelf people all the way and I am super picky and a snob!Marc Gouran
Grand Mayan accommodations were very good value, pools are terrific, restaurants and weather were also very good. The condo pitches are oppressive. The 'one hour' presentation lasted 4.5. Hours and they stiffed us in the discount for listening. Left a bad taste in my mouth for the whole experience, since the resort is very nice.R.c. Wallace
I just wanted to let you know that my family and I had a great time at the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta. The resort was great and the staff was very accommodating. We are thinking about Aruba next winter. Do you have properties there? (Note: from MayanRental: Thanks Susan !! Unfortunately, we are only doing Mayan Resorts at the moment , but new ones are coming in Buenos Aires and Dominican Republic, so stay tuned)Susan Coby
Just spent Xmas week at the Grand Mayan and had a fantastic time. The staff and rooms were fabulous. The new restaurants were delicious and we cannot say enough nice things about the pool. This is our 3rd time back with our family of 5. The rooms are spacious, kitchen is convenient, and our Walmart run made this vacation even easier and super affordable. We did every excursion possible and can't wait to go again.Linda rosen
John was able to book us a unit @ Mayan Palace for Dec 2010 Christmas week at last minute when our previous Christmas vacation plans fell apart. We were skeptical at first but turned out to be the BEST vacation of our life and the most luxurious resort we have ever stayed at. Our children were highly impressed too. They loved the pool at Mayan Palace and the beach is great for surfing. We rode horses in the sand. Staff was excellent, location heaven on earth. If you have never been to Acapulco you must stay at Mayan. Thanks again John!! Kudos to YOU! We had the vacation of a lifetime!!! If you want to see our pics we are on facebook Feel free to email us it you have questions [email protected]Christine Gerber
I toured this resort with a very nice young gentleman named Seth, and while it may be a top notch facility, I gotta tell you I smell a rat. I was offered $200. cash, a box of cuban cigars, and two bottles of tequila, none of which did I receive. I got back to my resort and found owners who said they NEVER have been paid rent on a unit they did not use, which was a big selling point for the resort. My advice is to stay away...Scott
Hi John, Just wanted to drop a quick note to say Thank you so much for a great vacation at the Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta! Also to mention it "worked in our favor" by checking in on Monday instead of Sun. We thought the room we would get would NOT have the view that we hoped for, boy this time it really worked! We got the TOP FLOOR! So very happy about that! Great resort kids loved the water slide, wave pool, lazy river etc! Great time had by all! Thanks again for ALL your help! We would use you again for sure! Thanks!Ilene & Bob
We certainly had a great three-week vacation this year once again. This is the second time we go to Mayan Palace Riviera Maya and it is really good. We never want to return home. Hospitality there is to be pointed out as impossible to be improved, people there are lovely. Regarding the rooms, they are always very tidy and there is always somebody checking if everything is correct. Restaurants such as Tramonto and Gong are unbelievable, their decoration is nice and the food very good, especially the basket of bread at Tramonto, though wines are a bit expensive. Talking about the pool, we had very good time in it, at a certain time it was a bit cold, in February some days were no so warm to enjoy cold water. All in all , we enjoyed our holidays there and we're planning to know how Mayan Palace looks like in Nuevo Vallarta or Acapulco. Thank you for your interest in asking about our vacation. We look forward to being sending our next booking request.Graciel Giglio
I spent a week in February at the Grand Mayan in Riviera Maya with my family in honor of my husband's "special" birthday. Our rooms were next to each other in a good location. The food was exceptionally good and the staff very friendly. Lots to do in the area. Would definitely do it again!Felice Wyloge
Wanted to let you know what a wonderful vacation we had at the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta again this year. We were there the last week of January and had friends with us who loved it also. The weather was spectacular, the resort so well maintained, great food and everyone was so friendly. My only recommendation would be not to rely on directions from the hotel staff. We got lost several times in trying to find restaurants by car. We declined attending a timeshare presentation and was never asked again. I will be anxious to see once the construction on the new buildings is completed. It certainly is a resort that has something to offer for everyone. Thanks, John, for all of your help.Pete and Cindy Wolowic
Hello John. Yes we enjoyed our vacation in Nuevo at the Grand Mayan. The grounds and the units themselves are top notch. We always enjoy Mexico, the weather the people and the culture in most aspects are second to none. We would like to Thank You for taking advantge of the oppertunity to provide a service like this for all invloved. Even though we are Mayan members and can't get in for various reasons we still have this option of purchasing weeks diirectly from the owners through you. Once again Thank You John, and all the best..> RodRod W.
I just wanted to say that John was wonderful to work with booking our vacation to Mayan Palace..We have been many times before so we new that we would love the resort... Best resort in MX in my opinion. A few panics right before the trip and John was WONDERFUL and even called on a non work day to clarify and make sure it was correct. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH. I would highly recom. this rental agency to anyone at anytime! Very pleased and will use you again. Thanks again for a great vacation.Marc/Lisa
We have just returned from our trip from the grand mayan in nuevo vallarta. What a beautiful place. Would recommend to anyone. People are very friendly, service is extraordinary, view is spectacular. Thank you so much for the use of your time share. Joanne and Bob Forgetjoanne forget northern ontario canada
Hi John: Our holidays were fantastic. We got both weeks rooms with ocean views which was very nice, specially because the Grand Mayan in Nuvo Vallarta is all under construction. It was pretty messy but the Grand Mayan areas, all the pools, the service, amenities etc were as always superb. I would love to keep receiveing your newsletters and updates on the resort. Truly I think is one of the best time share resort we have ever been. We sure plan to return in the near future. OUr friends were totally impressed. Thank you so much John. Hi, this is a great website and service. We are Grand Luxxe owners with an A profile which means we can reserve 12 months in advance. We have 2 + 2 with lock off privileges at Grand Luxxe. What is the process for getting on your owners list to offer our unused weeks for rent? Thanks, Brenda HagmanBrenda Hagman, Cross Plains Wisconsin
Just wanted to thank you for arranging such a wonderful vacation for the six of us. The accommodations were terrific…..and of course we were able to get ocean front views at the Grand Mayan. We’re hoping to repeat this for next year….but the first two weeks of Feb. I might want a second week in the two bedroom suite so I can bring my family. I know this is rather early to discuss it but I want you to be aware of our intentions. Hope you and Linda had a lovely holiday and New Year….. Our best, Ellen & Warren Regent ps……I gave your name to several people….both owners and potential renters.Ellen Regent, Hastings on Hudson
We are back from our vacation. The resort was fabulous. It was quiet and safe yet offered plenty of activities for those interested in something other than soaking up the sun. The restaurants were very good and the sushi/crepe place was very good and very reasonable. We were happy with the service personnel too. At one point, my husband gave me some cash (about $100) and left it on the dresser. I failed to get it in my purse and it was left there during the maid service. I had also left a daily tip and when I returned, the $100 was still there. Pretty impressive! As for violence, didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. I’ve been to Mexico often and found that the number of heavily armed police was much higher in Cabo and Mazatlan. That being said, the traffic and the navigating of the city was troublesome. We did arrange for a personal driver and used someone personally recommended to us. We had a group of 25 (15 of which were kids who thought they were adults) at the Mayan Resorts and this driver’s company included a large suburban plus a couple of cabs. Drivers were all members of his family. We even hired him for a tour of the city where he took us around to the typical sites as well as those sites not generally included. Our tour included his recommended restaurant (fabulous). He picked us up at 4:00; toured us until 6:30 where he dropped us off for a sunset and dinner. Then, he picked us up again and took us to an evening show of the cliff divers. We returned at 10:00 p.m. and his fee was $25 per person excluding dinner. It was great. We also hired the drivers to take and retrieve our kids from the clubs – generally a midnight to 5:00 a.m. stint. I would have been much more nervous had the kids had to get cabs after clubbing every night. So, if your potential guests are worried, I’m very comfortable recommending the resort, the city and especially this driver. The driver information is as follows: [email protected]Linda, Kalamazoo, Michigan
Hi John. I just wanted to thank you. I had another excellent time at the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta and they were able to combine my two reservations to get a two bedroom suite. Thanks again for everything. I will continue to recommend you to all my friends as you always providing the best service. :-)Joey Olvera, Carol Stream, Illinois
Thanks John, we're back now and everything went well. No problems. The resort was again great and the new pool area for the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya was quite beautiful. We even happened upon the new suites at the Grand Luxe, they look lovely. Have you seen them? Hope you had a great holiday and thanks for helping make our trip away from the snow so nice.Ann Hunka
Just a note from the owner of this guestbook. You will notice a big break in the dates. We had a webhost from May 2008 to Jan 2009 that didn't allow us to have a guest book. We have sent out notices to guests that the guest book is available again. Entries should resume in February 2009, so you can again see how people have enjoyed their Mayan vacationsJohn Jameson
Hi John: I just got back last night from our trip to the Grand Mayan Resort in Nuevo Vallarta and wanted to thank you for all your help . Our accomodations were just like I expected, the check-in was easy, our stay was fantastic, and everything went smooth at check-out time. There was a mixup with the taxi on one occasion and we were delivered to the wrong place, had to get two more taxis, and were very frustrated by the time we finally got on the boat to take us to our activity. I complained to the Bell Captain, and he was very very helpful and we got a complimentary delivery to the airport for our departure to make up for the prior mess. I was pleased with all he did to accomodate us. All in all, we had a most memorable time and will enjoy reliving the week for a long time. Thank you again for helping to make this week possible.Jan Hubbard, Eureka, CA
Hi John: I have meant to email you prior to this, but I want to tell you that we absolutely LOVED the Grand Mayan Riviera. All the details worked exactly as you had specified. We were able to stay in Building 1, 2nd floor. The service was awesome and the girls (all seniors) were enamored with the facility, pool and beach. We would all return and definitely use your service! When I asked the girls what some of the week's highlights were, they replied, "EVERYTHING!" The rooms were spacious and gorgeous and the maid even picked up after the girls and hung their clothes each day--something they NEVER get at home! (We did tip heartedly for their "over-the-top" attention!) From our perspective as moms, it was a great spring break option. Since it was NOT "all-inclusive," I think healthier decisions were made and it was away from the daily action in Playa and Cancun. There are only a couple things we noted in our evaluations of the property. It would have been nice if some of the nightly entertainment went past 10:00 for the girls--a dj, band or something--about the only thing they could do later in the evening was meet other kids down by the pool. The other thing is that the shuttles around the property were few and far between. They also "color-coded" their shuttles, so often the ones that did come by were not the ones needed. We all thought that a "Disney" approach where the shuttles ran continually to all locations would be beneficial. If people are assigned to buildings 8+, they would have had a completely different experience than we did since the pool, beach and rest of the facilities were quite a hike from those locations. I don't know if the facility looks for your input, but these things would be worthy of attention. Thank you again for helping us through the process and for all of your input and arrangements! Hopefully, we will be able to contact you again soon!LG, Eden Prairie, Minnesota
I've stayed at the Grand Mayan (Cancun) now twice and the Acapulco property once. Each time gets better and better. Between the pool, long walks on the beach and relaxing in our home away from home...what a great way to relax. In Cancun the close proximity to Playa del Carmen and downtown Cancun make it a great half-way point. We have also found some great local restaurants were we had 3 course meals, beer included, for 2 people came to $20. True Mexican flavorLisa , Palm Beach, Florida
We are owners at Grand Mayan and just finished our first visit to Acapulco. We are also owners at Marriot Grande Vista in Orlando and were amazed at the 5 star beauty and treatment we received at Grand Mayan. The food was superb and well priced, the place was spotless, and the airport is only 5 minutes away. The private small pool on our balcony was so delightful each evening at sunset. The view took our breath away!Thomas Shanahan, Springfield,Illinois
We have just stayed at the Grand Mayan resort 5/19-5/28. The hotel was extremely gorgeous with the Mayans in the entry way was breataking. This was our 1st time in Nuevo Vallarta. The pool view was fantastic. The room was great and spaciouos. However, we did have some complaints regarding shuttle. We were NOT happy that we had to take a taxi to get out of the property or walk to the front gate to grab a bus which we had to pay for. I feel that "if" we come back that would be a priority to us that Shuttle service needs to be included. We visited alot of timeshare presentations and alot of them provided shuttle service to town, Wal Mart, El Centro. Also, we had an issue with towels for the pool. We had to argue many times to get towels just because we didn't have the "card towel", you would think if your wearing a braclet that says the Grand Mayan you should be able to get towels with out having to use a "card towel". We had hard times sleeping also with the bed being as hard as it was. We loved the arts & crafts and activities by the pool. Love the idea you can swim drink & eat while in the water. We were wondering why the Mayan Palace provides Parasailing & the Grand Mayan did not? We wanted to give the highest Thanks to the maids that cleaned the room and ladies that did our laundry, they were very helpful and friendly. Taking in the Wal Mart & a bus ride experience was something to look forward to. Overall we had a great time!David, sacramento, california
I just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know how much we enjoyed our vacation at the Grand Mayan in Cancun. I want to thank you for all your help in booking this vacation. Before we left for vacation, I had checked the comments on RCI. The complaints were totally unjustified. The resort was beautiful & the nicest resort that we have ever stayed at. Workers were consistenly working around the resort and we were spoiled with both day and night maids. We had huge beautiful rooms and daily access to the spa and fitness center. Resort staff bent over backwards to be helpful. Thanks again! GailGail Wohlscheid, Ionia, MI
I took my first vacation to P.V. Mexico this past December 2005. Mexico was really not my first choice of vacation places but I soon found out how wrong I was in not considering Mexico before. We stayed at the Grand Mayan Palace in Nuevo Vallarta for the first 7 days where we enjoyed the fabulous GM Palace grounds, restaurants and pool area, the downtown P.V. shopping (especially the River area shops and all that silver jewelry!!) The grocery chopping at Walmart in P.V. was a surreal experience that is certainly a "must do." We really enjoyed an evening tour to the Las Caletas. The 1 hour boat trip there and back was a blast with rum punches and singing and dancing to the oldies. As we approached the Las Caletas beach we were greeted by a quiet, isolated beach with torches and linen draped tables dotting the beach and hills above. After a exhibition of ancient Mayan dance and drums we enjoyed a fabulous meal under the stars. Later in the week we drove to the "Canopy" zip lines, south of P.V. What a blast....a real "must do" too. The "Canopy", highly recommended to us over the Vallarta tour zip lines, proved to be all it claimed. After our glorious seven days in luxury, we checked out of the GM Palace and drove "to the mountains" to visit San Sebastian. This quaint Mexican village is still authentic and mostly untouched by tourism (which I am sure is soon to come to San Sebastian). We stayed at a lovely inn right on the town square with views of the cobble streets, town gazebo, and village church steeple. We awoke to rooster crowing throughout the village, farmers walking their oxen out to pasture, and children playing in the square. The real treat of this adventure was witnessing a Christmas posada on the night of Dec 16.....where the village children walk the streets signing Christmas songs, and carrying candles, as they go from door to door looking for room in the inn.....just as Mary and Joseph did so many years ago in Bethlehem. This was probably my favorite memory. I also enjoyed Sayolita, a hippy type town, north of Bucerius that boasts great artists, Mexican crafts and folk art, great restaurants and shopping. Overall a great 10 days.....fun, sun, great margueritas, unbelievable food every place we ate, excellent travel partners, and new adventures. Thank you John for arranging such a wonderful vacation....one that I will always remember. MaryMary, Michigan
We were a little apprehensive about our first trip to Mexico, but John made the whole process worry-free. The Mayan Palace Cancun is spectacular, and truly deserving of it's 5 star rating. If you're considering a trip to the Riviera Maya,I would strongly encourage you to use John and his service!John Uplinger, Grand Rapids, MI
As Mayan Owners and clients of John's we have made it a point to try and visit the properties a least twice a year.We like to stay current with property upgrades as well as new developments. We have enjoyed all of our visits to Acapulco,Riviera Maya, Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta and Mazatlan. We look forward to visitng Puerto Penasco & Cabo San Lucas Mayan resorts. We really like Mazatlan as the staff and people are so very friendly it feels like home. The best Bass fishing in Mexico is a 90 minute drive from the Sea Garden Resort. The Guides are knowledgeable and very helpfull. The beach is beautifull and the meals outstanding. Cuddels to the Panama Restaurant, Angelos at Pueblo Bonito, Casa Country etc etc etc. Oh yes Mazatlan is the Shrimp Capital of Mexico Enjoy ! If you want a relaxing holiday in Mexico just book with FUNSUN Mexico. Heather and David 705-687-3749Heather & David MacDonald, Gravenhurst Ontario
The Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta is AMAZING! We had a two bedroom and a 1 bedroom. John made the rental process a snap. My husband and I took our 3 teenagers and their 3 friends. There was something for everyone! The service and staff are outstanding! (we didn't attend the time share presentation, and were told some people were there up to 3 hours so beware) We went off the resort for a couple of dinners, for a $3.00 cab ride to the Fajita Plantation where they make your dinner at the table the food was very good, and to La Laguna excellent local style seafood. Our favorite restaurant at the resort was the Green Break. We plan on retuning to the Grand Mayan.Laurie, Walnut Creek, CA
The Mayan Palace is a beautiful place to stay. They have a three-tiered pool which is larger than a football stadium and the most gorgeous setting of our whole trip. It is close in proximity to Playa del Carmen which is probably the nicest spot in the area. If you like snorkeling, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, or Xcaret are the best nearby. Also, you can stay on site and pay a little more and they will take you. Skip Cancun! It is a tourist trap. You can take a shuttle to Playa del Carmen and stay there (best beach around!), ferry to Cozumel, or go a couple of miles south to Xcaret - excellent EcoPark. The Mayan Palace has a nightly entertainment venue which rivals cruise ship entertainment. The room service was the best and probably most affordable way to go. We particularly like their pizzas ($15 for a 16" and feeds family of 4) and breakfast ($6 - $7 each)! My brother and his friend stayed with us one night and then moved on to their week reservation at Casa Maya, a timeshare property in Orlando. They said their was no comparison. The Mayan Palace beat them at everything! On a sad note, we had our backpack stolen on a tour NOT arranged by the Mayan Palace and my husband stopped at the Casa Maya to take care of it. They gave us very bad advice and wasted his time. The concierge at the Mayan Palace gave us much better advice on his return and handled everything (helping us cancel credit cards, call the consulate, etc.) So for piece of mind in any event, they will take care of you! They also have a security box on site, but we never had anything missing from our room. This is our 2nd stay at the Mayan Palace, so from experience, I would never consider staying somewhere else.Anna Peabody, Fridley, MN
Dear John! It was a pleasure to make business with you. What a good deal! A good price, for a very nice place! I already gave your address to some friends and I told them about the good service I received from you. One of them already booked for Mayan Palace with you. Best regards SergioSergio, San Andres Cholula, Mexico
We all really loved our vacation week in Mayan Palace Acapulco. Not only was the weather perfect, also the hotel complex was extremely satisying and luxurious. The facilities were clean and in best shape, the restaurants formidable and the pool simply great. Of course, the beach with pure white sand and nice hotel staff taking care of our needs was also fantastic. The only thing we did not really like was the noise from the construction right next to the appartment.Udo
We spent the week before Easter at the Mayan Palace in the 2 bedroom suite. There were 6 of us 4 adults and 2 17 year old boys. The boys had a great time around the huge pool and what made it better was that the Hawiian Tropic Models 40 of them were staying there and they had several pictures taken with them. We spent most days enjoying the pool and walking the beach while taking part in the many activites that were going on during the day. Every night we went out to dinner in Playa Del Carmen or Puerto Morales you must explore both towns. Hope we can make it back next year, this is our second time to the Mayan Palace and 7th time to the Playa Del Carmen area. Found John's website while looking for rooms at the Mayan Palace, he was able to get us our Easter week vacation which are hard to find and was able to book it Friday to Friday. I would recomend you rent a car while down there you will have more freedom to explore. Also check out locogringo dot com it has a great picture from a plane of the Mayan Palace and you can see how vast this property is Thanks again John we all had a great timeScot & Norma Eastwold, Andover, Minnesota
We had a fantastic time during our holiday at the Mayan Palace. John made booking our stay easy and gave us lots of useful tips as far getting there and what to expect and do in the area. Our suite was perfect for our family. Our daughters, aged 7 and 9, loved having their own room and the kitchenette was great for making breakfasts and a few other easy meals - although the food at the Mayan was hard to resist. We ate at a couple of the restaurants as well as poolside and everything was excellent. (It was also nice not have to have to carry cash around with us and just bill everything to our suite!) The biggest hit was without a doubt the swimming pool. It is something to behold! The girls created a loop that they would do every morning and it took them over half an hour to complete it! We never had any problem finding loungers and the staff were extremely attentive as far as getting us anything we wanted to eat or drink - it was wonderfully relaxing. The girls also enjoyed body surfing - there is a really nice little bay just down the beach a bit that we would walk to - as well as looking for treasures in the rock pools. We even saw a sea turtle while out snorkelling one afternoon! I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an indulgent and stress-free holiday. It was amazing!Fiona McBride, Mississauga, Ontario
Before we left we talked about the reviews my sister found on the internet. Well we experienced the opposite. Our trip to the Mayan was simply amazing! They were so helpful in everything, from checking in way earlier (and not charging us) to letting us stay a day later (and not charging us) to the staff of all the activities and the cleaning staff. I can't even put into words how much fun our family had. My 2 older girls (age 19, 17) made friends with all the activity staff and have stayed in touch. In fact, when we went to the house we rented in Playa for the 2nd week the 2 girls would jump a bus and head to the Mayan to visit with all their friends. Thank you so much for trusting us to book the suite and pay with a cheque in the mail. that was very kind of you. if we ever go again to mexico which I hope we do real soon, I will def be writing you to find out about staying at the mayan Thanks againMonica, Edmonton, Alberta
The Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta was fantastic. We loved every moment of it and plan to return every February from here on. The hotel more than met our expectations, with lots to do, so much that we rarely left the resort. Also the food was excellent as well as reasonably priced. They've opened a fantastic new restaurant, which is not only visually stunning (the marble Mayan temple), but the buffet was exceptional. The best parts of the resort, however, were the huge pool and the over 1 mile of white sand beach. The pool is not heated, but we found it to refreshing after mid-morning. There were also extensive organized activities so much our day was spent in aquatic exercises, stretching, volleyball, and other just walking along the water's edge. In summary, we really enjoyed our relaxing week and plan to return yearly!"Ken, Carlsbad, California
