This post is for those who love staying active on vacation. At Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta, there are plenty of ways to keep moving, get your heart rate up, and still enjoy the relaxation of a resort setting. From tennis and pickleball to jogging paths, yoga sessions, and a fully equipped fitness center, there’s something here for every level of activity and every kind of guest.  If you want broader information, check out our post on 25 things to do on Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta resort.

Tennis & Pickleball: Hit the Court

If you love racket sports like I do, Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta has you covered. The resort features well-maintained tennis courts where you can practice your serve, play a friendly match, or even join in a group lesson. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, the courts are available for casual games or more structured play.

I am still deciding if I am going to be a pickleball fan.  If you have already crossed over to this super popular alternative to tennis,  there are multiple courses on the resort. With smaller courts it’s easy to pick even if you’ve never tried it before. The most challenging thing is learning the unusual scoring process.  Many guests love how social it is, and it’s a perfect way to meet other active travelers while enjoying some light competition. If you’re not sure, try  alternating between tennis and pickleball until you can pick a clear winner.

Jogging Paths & Scenic Walks

For those who prefer moving at their own pace, the resort has plenty of paths designed for jogging or walking. Early mornings or late afternoons are especially enjoyable, with cooler temperatures and beautiful lighting over the resort grounds. You can wind along landscaped gardens, past pools, and through quiet areas that feel removed from the busier parts of the property.  The routes are not long enough for serious runners, but you can add on a trip down the beach and back to get your endorphin fix.

Jogging here isn’t just exercise—it’s also a chance to take in the scenery. You’ll see lush greenery, glimpses of the ocean, and maybe even some local wildlife along the way. And the best part? The paths are well-marked, so it’s easy to pick a route that fits your energy level and time frame.  If you imagine you hear relaxing music, it isn’t your imagination, there are speakers sprinkled through the landscaping.

Fitness Center: Full Access to Workouts

If you like a more traditional gym setup, the Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta fitness center has everything you need. Cardio machines like treadmills, stationary bikes, and ellipticals let you maintain your routine even while traveling. Free weights, resistance machines, and functional training equipment are also available for strength training.

Many guests appreciate that the fitness center is open and spacious, with plenty of natural light. It’s the perfect place to sneak in a quick workout before breakfast or an evening session after a day in the sun. Staff are on hand if you have questions or need guidance on equipment, and the environment is welcoming to beginners as well as seasoned gym-goers. Best of all there is no charge for guests staying in Luxxe level.  There is also a gym in the lower level of the Grand Mayan for guests of those units.

Yoga & Mind-Body Classes

If you’re looking for something a little gentler—or just want to complement your other workouts—the resort offers yoga classes that focus on flexibility, balance, and relaxation for a nominal fee. Classes are led by experienced instructors who guide you through stretches, breathing exercises, and postures suitable for all skill levels.

Yoga sessions are a great way to start your day, reset after a long afternoon, or wind down in the evening. And with the resort’s tranquil surroundings, practicing yoga here feels extra peaceful—whether it’s on a quiet deck overlooking the gardens or in a bright, airy studio.

Water Sports & Pools

While the spa and lounging areas often get the spotlight, don’t forget about the resort pools and water sports options. Swimming laps is a low-impact way to get a full-body workout.

Some guests also enjoy aqua aerobics or light water exercises, which are perfect for those who want a fun, joint-friendly workout. And if you’re feeling adventurous, the resort can help you get set up with paddleboarding or other non-motorized water sports, giving you a way to combine fitness and adventure right on the property.

Golf & Active Leisure

While it’s not a traditional “gym” activity, golf is another way to stay active on resort grounds. There are three courses on the resort.  A cool evening option is the challenging 9 hole lakes course that is lighted.  Walking a course, carrying clubs, or using a pushcart adds plenty of low-impact activity, and you’ll get the added benefit of being outdoors in a beautiful setting. For those who prefer something more social, group lessons and clinics are also available.   If you want to golf , ask about our contracts that come with free golf rounds.  We recommend bringing your clubs if you plan on more than one round of 18.

Making Fitness Fun & Flexible

One of the great things about staying active at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta is the flexibility. You can mix and match activities based on your mood, energy, or schedule. Start the day with a jog, hit the tennis court mid-morning, enjoy a pool session in the afternoon, and finish with yoga at sunset. Or keep it simple with just one or two activities that feel good—either way, staying active on vacation never feels like a chore.

Your concierge is always happy to provide recommendations, schedule lessons, or suggest routes, so you can make the most of your time and keep your workouts enjoyable and stress-free.  The Vidanta App is also a good place to find yoga or other class schedules.

Final Thoughts

Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta makes it easy for active guests to balance relaxation with movement. Tennis, pickleball, jogging paths, yoga, a fully equipped fitness center, and even water and golf activities mean that you can stick to your routine or even try something new, while still enjoying all the comforts of a luxury resort.

Whether you’re an avid athlete or just looking to stay lightly active during your vacation, the resort provides plenty of options to keep you moving, healthy, and happy. And the best part? You get to do it all in a stunning tropical setting that makes staying active feel like part of the vacation fun, not a task to check off.
