We admit, it's confusing!!
To start the size and luxry level from lowest to highest is as follows: Mayan Palace - Grand Mayan - Grand Bliss - Grand -Luxxe - Spa Tower - Loft - Four Bedroom Residence.
First of all, Nuevo Vallarta has every resort, including Loft and Residence options.
The Riveria Maya area has all of the resorts except for the Loft and Residence options, so Grand Mayan, Grand Bliss, Grand Luxxe, Spa Tower and Mayan Palace.
Other locations have only one or two of the resorts and no Loft or Residence options.You can see resort maps linked below showing the locations of each unit type.

Really we are just getting knit picky because they are all great accommodations every time. They are all high quality studios and suites with a similar layout.
The Grand Luxxe two bedroom suites are HUGE: with over 2,000 square feet , including the balcony.
So, Grand Mayan vs Grand Luxxe or the incomparable Lofts , etc. They're all great! Just pick which one works best for you!
